Alert Parents

As a parent today you have to continually keep track of what your kids are doing, who they are hanging out with and what decisions they are making. You teach them to never give out their address and to be very careful with whom they are alone. The threats are everywhere, so often you feel safer when your kids are at home with you. Many kids find that spending time on the computer gives them the freedom to socialize while being protected by a level of anonymity. They are just chatting with people who really don't know who they are or where they live at, or do they?

They article on wired.com gives you a brief glimpse into the world of myspace.com and the truly scary thing that could happen to your child. Also, check out http://www.mydeathspace.com for some startling stories of past myspace users.

What it all comes down to is that you need to keep track of what your kids are doing online just as much as you do when they are out of the house.
